  • Condition: Cards was removed from a scrapbook and has some residue on back. Signed inside. Good to very good vintage condition with some light edgewear; yellowing/discoloring inside. Please see photos.

    Description

    A unique wedding greeting card depicts a cartoon rag doll bride and groom on the front with a rice shoe and horseshoe being thrown at them. Reads: "To the Bride and Groom/ May every kernel of rice that showers on you today..."
    Inside they are driving away in a sedan automobile, with rice filled in the back window. The rice shown on the front and inside is real, a packet of it contained between the folds of the card. Inside reads: "Be a promise of all the joys you'll share along your way! / Congratulations."
    The card is signed and dated 1944 - a World War II era wedding. Card measures approx. 4 3/4" x 5 3/4". See photos for condition details.
