Hello, up for your consideration is a stunning antique Victorian jewelry Whitby Jet cameo Mourning black necklace pendant. Extremely high relief cameo carving stone with great attention to details by skillful master of this art. The cameo featuring Roman soldier with Galea winged helmet. The cameo is cased in fine 800 silver casing with engraved on back Bacchus deity with Horn of plenty.
Marked for silver on loop with 800 silver purity mark. The pendant hangs on an elegant silver chain with fancy links with hook clasp. No markings on chain but recently inspected by professional jeweler to confirm silver purity and Jet stone authenticity.
Originates from a private collection.
Excellent preserved with some insignificant dings on silver back due to age, the cameo carving itself is perfectly preserved. I'm selling it as is found.
