PLASTER WASHERS ARE
USED TO STABILIZE AND RE-SUPPORT EXISTING PLASTER THAT HAS CRACKED, SAGGED, AND/ OR SEPARATED FROM THE LATH. ELIMINATE THE NEED TO REMOVE DAMAGED PLASTER BY SECURING IT BACK TO THE LATH WITH THESE WASHERS. THE DOME SHAPE OF THE WASHERS FLATTEN OUT WHEN DRAWN DOWN TIGHT THROUGH THE PLASTER CREATING A LOWER PROFILE PATCHED AREA.
TIPS FOR A SUCCESSFUL REPAIR
THE SCREW HEAD PROFILE SHOULD SET FLUSH OR BELOW THE RECESS IN THE WASHER.
USE A BUGLE HEAD TYPE SCREW #6 X 1 5/8" LONG OR LONGER DEPENDING ON THICHNESS OF PLASTER AND LATH.
COARSE THREAD SCREWS WORK WELL.
FASTEN INTO WALL STUDS OR CEILING JOISTS WHENEVER POSSIBLE TO ACHIEVE GREATER STRENGTH.
SUPPORT PLASTER TIGHT TO LATH WHERE POSSIBLE PRIOR TO FASTENING.
A PILOT HOLE MAY BE NECESSARY IF THE PLASTER STARTS TO CRACK MORE WHEN INSTALLING THE SCREWS.
USE ENOUGH PLASTER WASHERS FOR THE JOB. THEY GET USED UP QUICKLY.
