Original Battlefield pickup Vietnam War Helicopter Pilot Helmet! Relic condition.
Hello-
For sale is an original Vietnam War Helicopter Pilot Helmet. This historic item has been part of my collection since 2008 and is ready for a new home. I purchased this from a vietnamese collector in Da Nang Vietnam in the summer of 2008. He had purchased it from some Hmong villagers/farmers whom had recovered it from a wreck they had discovered. It was originally purchased with the gunners helmet. Unfortunately I do not know the location of the wreck for possible recovery purposes. I wish that I had gathered more information on the location when I purchased.
Please evaluate the photographs closely for condition of this item. This helmet is in relic condition. It is worn, faded, scratched, beat up and as is after presumably laying in the jungle for years. The decal off of the back is intelligible but I believe there once was a #14 below this. A couple of the screws have been replaced and are not original to this helmet (4 of them). This was done by the collector in Vietnam and not by myself. Part of the hardware is marked: MT. 1627 A.I.C. Roanwell CORP.; and the visor mount is marked 697-07.
