Mid-Victorian Original Jet Broach - very large bib style Whitby

Hard to call something 7 1/2" long a broach!
Original, Victorian bib broach. Fastened at the neck makes a dramatic statement.
The top 3" bar has two central 4-point flowers(?) and the ends look like crescent moons. Two small pieces of jet are missing. Fabric covers the metal linkage on the back of the bar and most of the original enamel paint is still on the back. Has a simple C-clasp (small bends). The metal linked hanging beads really shine in 4 continuous loops centered by a single drop strand. Metal linkage has some light rust. Beads are faceted, irregular and pitted which make me believe they are Whitby jet but could possibly be french jet.
A truly unique Victorian piece.
