Description
1963 dated Sierra HGU-2A/P flight helmet size medium. This has the spring loaded earcups which is a fairly rare configuration. As with most of these helmets, the pads did not survive (front and back pad) and I have fabricated and installed new pads. The earpads are hard to replace as they are exceptionally thin but they have been replaced with pads that should display nicely. This is 100% USAF with the early style ADC reflective tape stripes. It appears to be a T-33 Aircraft silhouette on the visor cover. Helmet is equipped with anauthentic gold coated nuclear flash visor
not to be confused with newer reproduction gold visors common on the market today. I believe the helmet to have actually been flown by a Canadian pilot (Major Hemming who's name is on the visor cover) however, I have been informed by those who would know that Canadian pilots would not have flown this helmet. I leave that up to the buyer.
I am in the process of selling items from a 40-year collection of mostly jet age helmets and oxygen masks. Chances are, if you are looking for something, I probably have one.
Additionally, I enjoy researching and then replicating hard-to-find graphics for flight helmets. Again, if there is something you want, please let me know.
