ANTIQUE DESK TOP BRASS & WOOD SCALE WITH 4 WEIGHTS POSTAL OR JEWELER

Description

Very nice antique postal/jewelry scale with a wooden base.  The base measures 9 inches by 4 3/4 inches; approximately 4 inches tall from the bottom of the wooden foot to the top of the brass platform. There are four silver colored metal weights included: 1 oz, 2 oz, 4 oz, and 8 oz. No markings to indicate manufacturer.
ITEM CONDITION DESCRIPTION: Brass fittings have some spots of age discoloration- they have not been polished, and most likely would not polish to a bright shine.  The scale platforms move up and down easily and smoothly.  The wood platform has a nice, soft aged patina; there are some little nicks/small dents/tiny scratches/scuffs on the wood due to age, wear and use.  The four small feet on the bottom of the base are in very good, sturdy condition. Weights have some scuffs/tiny scratches/tiny spots of discoloration. The 3 round indented spaces on the wooden base have fabric in the bottoms- the fabric has come slightly loose in a few areas around the edges.
