    Description

    Offered is this antique silverplate baby or child's cup, made by the Knickerbocker Silver Co. of Port Jarvis, New York. The cup has a thin hammered rim around the top with four shield-like devices below it. It addition to the Knickerbocker mark the bottom is also marked "Electro Plate on Nickel Silver" and "C237", probably an item number. The company was in business for a long time, from about 1894-1962, but the piece and the mark look like early examples; I would guess it dates to the 1900-1920 period.
    The cup is approx. 2 1/8" high and about 3 3/8" across, including the handle. There are a couple of small dents around the bottom. About half of the plating remains on the outside; the inside has not been polished so I don't know how much if any of the plating remains on the inside.
