Campaign fundraising letter from the treasurer of the campaign fund (signed, but signature unclear) on Postal Steamship Company stationery dated October 19, 1912.
Campaign fundraising letter signed H[?] H Blackwell and Frank J. Willette on Partridge & Blackwell stationery dated October 27, 1908
Campaign fundraising letter to Mr. R.W. Gillett signed Ralph Phelps on his attorney office stationery dated October 5, 1906. Handwritten response from Gillette indicating he is voting for Codd.
Unsigned, unattributed, undated letter to Mayor Thompson on Pardridge & Blackwell stationery advocating that Ralph Phelps be appointed controller.
Signed letter on City of Detroit Executive Office stationery dated May 22, 1907 from Mayor Thompson to the aforementioned Ralph Phelps apologizing for remarks about Phelps that were reported in the newspaper. [apparently Thompson said something to the effect that Phelps was a nice guy and nice guys shouldn’t be controllers or something to that effect. This letter was his painful attempt to walk back his reported remarks.]
Letters are in good condition with some wear, occasional small tears an discoloration.
