Jim Miller was born in 1924 in South Dakota, then his family moved to Missouri and later Oklahoma. Jim grew up in the Osage cattle country near Pawhuska & was inspired by the rough & tumble area as well as the Osage Indians.  He entered the Navy during World War ll after which he moved to Colorado to work in the coal mines, in timber & on ranches. While working, a tree fell on him & broke his back.  During his recuperation, he turned to leather working & painting. In the 1950's he went to an art show which featured bronze sculptures & his career as a sculptor began!  In 1973 he quit his job & began making his living in art. He believes each piece should tell a story. Jim's talent has resulted in hundreds of sculptures & paintings that have captured the heritage of the Southwest. His work provides enjoyment & memories that reach far beyond his art gallery located outside of Wilson, Oklahoma.
